*Parking at 19 Newtown*
Whilst there is no dedicated parking at 19 Newtown, guests can easily pull up outside to unload the car and pick up or drop off passengers.
Over the past two years, both we and our guests have usually been able to find unrestricted on-street parking nearby, even during Folk Week. We recommend trying Radway, outside The Byes, or Hillside Road, all of which are within an easy five-minute walk.
*Nearby Council car parks and Visitor Permits*
Some East Devon District Council car parks are just a few minutes’ walk and include Mill Street, Ham East, Ham West and Roxburgh. Manor Road and Sidford are further away but useful at busy times, particularly if you want to explore the area.
Short-stay visitor permits are available for participating council car parks:
• 2 days for £12
• 3 days for £15
• 4 days for £20
• 7 days for £25

*Enjoying Sidmouth without the car*
Many previous guests have comments that a key benefit of 19 Newtown is its central location, so once you arrive, you may not need the car again.
The beach, seafront, shops, cafés, restaurants, pubs, Connaught Gardens and local attractions are all within easy walking distance, making it an ideal base for a relaxing and at times a car-free holiday with everything you need close by.
*Help with parking costs*
During the summer period we would be happy to contribute towards a visitor permit for longer stays. Please ask if this would be helpful.
